Nothing by Lulu Raczka is more than just a minimalist, atomised play, and goes beyond the realm of immersing it’s audience into a fictional world of story-telling; it is a game, an active interrogation of societal structures, and an improvisation at each performance, which offers a cynical, bleak, yet emotional perspective of a world in which the lines between reality and fantasy are vastly blurred.
With strong content and adult themes, Nothing is a show that will never be finished. Each performance is different. Performers are at complete liberty to perform their monologue whenever they see fit, with no linear pattern necessary. The performers also will never directly use the performance space; in fact, there isn’t really one. Instead, they speak as one of the audience, forcing us into an unavoidable chasm, making us question whether we are part of the problem… and subsequently, perhaps part of the solution too. A collaborative piece brought to you by Six Toes Theatre Company and a cast of 8 who have worked together to produce/direct and act within this play.
